This distinguished award, presented on March 27, 2026, at the (Texas State Meeting) in Huntsville, Texas, recognizes an individual whose impact on international education extends far beyond their home institution鈥攈onoring leadership, advocacy and sustained contributions at the state, regional and national levels.

Bedo is widely recognized as a tireless advocate for international education. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to supporting students, colleagues and the global community. From leading international recruitment initiatives to organizing statewide collaborations and engaging in national advocacy, her work is marked by both passion and purpose.

In a speech announcing this year鈥檚 recipient, the NAFSA organization described Bedo as an individual who has 鈥減layed a pivotal role in elevating Texas on the global stage.鈥

Through leadership in the Study Texas consortium, she has organized recruitment tours, workshops and initiatives that have connected institutions across the state to students around the world鈥攐pening doors and creating opportunities for countless learners.

Bedo鈥檚 influence is also deeply felt through mentorship and professional development. As a Trainer Corps member and a trusted colleague, she has guided and inspired professionals across Texas, always leading with generosity, kindness and a genuine desire to uplift others.

But perhaps what sets Bedo apart most is her heart. She is known not only for her accomplishments but also for the way she builds relationships, creates community and make others feel seen and supported. Her impact is both measurable and deeply personal – reflected in the students she serves, the colleagues she mentors and the networks she strengthens.
